			Introduction Since 1978, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) has been producing the "Fishery Statistical Bulletin for the South China Sea Area" from 1979-2007. As fishery statistics are considered a tool that has been used as a basis to facilitate development planning and management of fisheries, fisheries statistic items and data sets collected by countries could vary based on the priority needs and objectives of the countries. After 2007, SEAFDEC necessitated improving the fishery statistic system to the "Fishery Statistical Bulletin for Southeast Asia" in a new website.
